The Singaporean Journal of Business Economics and Management (SJBEM) is committed to upholding transparency, objectivity, and integrity in all aspects of the publication process. To ensure unbiased editorial and review decisions, all parties involved—authors, reviewers, and editors—must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation, assessment, or publication of a manuscript.
Authors are required to declare any financial, personal, academic, or institutional relationships that may be perceived as influencing the results or conclusions of their submitted work. A clear Conflict of Interest Statement must be included in the manuscript at the time of submission. Failure to disclose such conflicts may result in rejection or retraction of the paper after publication.
Reviewers must inform the editorial office immediately if they identify any conflict of interest—such as collaboration, competition, or personal relationships with the author(s) or their institutions—that could compromise the objectivity of the review. Reviewers are expected to recuse themselves in such cases.
Editors must avoid handling manuscripts in which they have any personal, professional, or financial interest. Editorial decisions will not be influenced by any external factors, and manuscripts with identified conflicts will be reassigned to another editor or excluded from consideration.
If a conflict of interest is discovered after publication, SJBEM will take corrective measures, which may include issuing an erratum, correction, expression of concern, or retraction, in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
All contributors are encouraged to act with full transparency to preserve the credibility and integrity of scholarly communication.
