Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The manuscript is single-spaced, formatted in two columns, and uses an 8-point font. Italics are used instead of underlining, except for URL addresses. All figures, tables, and illustrations are embedded within the text at the appropriate locations rather than placed at the end of the manuscript.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Please ensure that the full names of all authors and their correct institutional affiliations are accurately entered in the system. The information provided in the submission metadata will be taken from the author details entered during account registration if not updated.
Authors’ names must be written in full (first name, middle name, and last name, where applicable). Abbreviations or initials are not permitted. Affiliations should be complete and up to date.

SJBEM welcomes submissions of original research, theoretical and applied studies, and innovative contributions that advance knowledge in these fields.

Authors are requested to carefully follow the guidelines below to ensure smooth processing and compliance with journal standards.

All manuscripts must be written in English, with clear, concise, and grammatically correct language.

Manuscript Formatting
Page size: 5” × 7.5” (width × height).
- Font: Times New Roman, 10-point, medium.
- Headings: Main headings in UPPER CASE, bold, and centred; subheadings in lower case, bold, and left-aligned.
- Section numbering: All sections, tables, figures, formulas, acknowledgements, and references must be numbered consecutively.
Avoid footnotes where possible; if essential, use superscript numbers and place them at the bottom of the page, separated by a line.

Submission Process
Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format using the journal’s online submission portal: Submit Paper.
Authors should ensure their manuscript meets journal length, format, and style requirements at submission and revision stages.

Abstract
Each manuscript must include an abstract of up to 300 words.
The abstract should be descriptive, indicate the main results, and provide context, significance, and conclusions of the research.
Avoid references, numbers, abbreviations, or measurements unless essential.

Keywords
Provide 6–8 keywords following the abstract.
Do not repeat words from the title.

Tables
Use tables sparingly and design them as simply as possible.
Submit tables in .doc, .docx format, double-spaced, with headings and legends.
Each table should be on a separate page and self-explanatory.
Avoid duplication of data in both table and text or table and figure.

Figures
Preferred file formats: .doc, docx TIFF, JPEG.
For layered images, submit Photoshop (.psd) files.
Minimum resolution: Line Art 800 dpi, Combination 600 dpi, Halftone 300 dpi.
Figures must be numbered (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.) with uppercase letters for subparts.
Legends should allow the figure to be understood independently of the manuscript text.

Equations and Formulae
Use standard notations and clearly distinguish similar symbols.
Superscripts, subscripts, and sub-sub scripts must be properly sized.
If equations cannot be encoded in MathML, submit as TIFF or EPS.

References
Follow APA style.
References must be cited in the text and listed double-spaced at the end of the manuscript.
Only include references cited in the manuscript.

Authors may withdraw manuscripts before the review process is complete.
Withdrawal after acceptance is subject to review charges.
