Allegation of Misconduct

Process for Handling Allegations of Misconduct

The Singaporean Journal of Business Economics and Management (SJBEM) upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. The journal follows a zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of research and publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, and citation manipulation.

To promote best practices, SJBEM encourages ethical conduct among authors, reviewers, editors, and affiliated institutions. Allegations or suspicions of misconduct should be reported directly to the Editor-in-Chief via email at editor@singaporeanjbem.com.

Upon receiving a complaint, the editor will:

  1. Conduct a preliminary assessment of the claim to determine its validity and relevance.
  2. Request supporting evidence (e.g., duplicate publication records, plagiarism reports, or documentation of unethical behavior).
  3. If warranted, initiate a formal investigation in consultation with the Editorial Board and, where applicable, the author’s institution.
  4. Implement appropriate actions, which may include rejection of the submission, retraction or correction of a published article, or notification to relevant authorities.

SJBEM is committed to maintaining transparency and fairness throughout the process. All allegations will be handled confidentially and in accordance with international ethical guidelines, including those outlined by the COPE.

Authors and reviewers are strongly advised to review and adhere to the journal’s Publication Ethics and Malpractice Policy to ensure compliance with professional and ethical standards.
